Kent war memorial lesson plans

Tunbridge Wells war memorial dedication in 1923 © IWM's Farthing CollectionThese lesson plans can be used with the accompanying case studies of Kent war memorials, which can be accessed using the menu on the left.

The lessons cover various war memorial issues and historical events using Kent war memorials as examples. They can therefore be a useful way of addressing local history, engaging young people with local heritage and of studying aspects of wider conflicts.

All our lesson plans are designed to be flexible and while suggested age groups are given, you may wish to adapt the plans for your own class. Suggestions for differentiation and further work are given.
