In this section of the website you can access our general youth group resources. These are more informal than our schools resources and could be used by any young person wanting to do a war memorial activity or find out more about war memorial issues.
Who could use these resources?
The following groups may find this section of the website useful:
- Cadets
- Duke of Edinburgh Award participants working on the Service section
- Scouting or Guiding groups working on general activities
- School history clubs
Resources in this section
The resources in this section consist of a series of information sheets and activity sheets.
- Information sheets may be helpful in groups meetings to introduce young people to key war memorial issues.
- Activity sheets are designed to be used during young people's work on war memorial tasks such as visiting a memorial or finding out about the people named on a memorial. They contain War Memorials Trust's ideas for things to do involving war memorials.
Resources are available for younger children and older children or young adults. Please use the links on the left to access the relevant resources for your age group. These groups are flexible and you may wish to look at all resources and choose the ones that are most suitable for you.
Remember to discuss any activities you would like to do with your parents/carers or your group leader, especially if it involves work to an actual war memorial.
Other resources
Scouting and Guiding groups may find it useful to look at our suggestions for completing specific badges.
Our Projects pages give further ideas of more in depth war memorial and community projects that young people can get involved in.
These resources can be accessed using the menu on the left.
