Portsmouth High School, Hampshire
Staff at Portsmouth High School contacted War Memorials Trust through the First World War Centenary Partnership in 2013 to request a visit that would help pupils understand the work of the Trust and the importance of war memorials. The visit took place in January 2014.
Abbot's Hill School, Hertfordshire
Abbot’s Hill School was keen to ensure pupils knew about the local area’s experiences during the First World War, especially with the war’s centenary approaching. With an unusual war memorial being situated close to the school, staff felt that working with War Memorials Trust would be a useful way of getting pupils to understand some of their local history.
Easthampstead Park Community School, Berkshire
Easthampstead Park Community School, in Bracknell, was keen to work with War Memorials Trust on Remembrance Day 2013 to give pupils a wider understanding of why we have war memorials and of their historical importance.
Knights Templar School, Hertfordshire
Our research into our local memorial reminded us that even nearly 100 years after the start of the Great War, remembrance is an important part of our national heritage and war memorials are still relevant to us today.
