Kent war memorial resources

Heritage Lottery Fund logoIn 2013 the Heritage Lottery Fund awarded War Memorials Trust a grant of £9,900 to carry out a project entitled ‘Remembering their history: Inspiring young people with the stories of our war memorials.’ Kent has a diverse and fascinating collection of war memorials and the aim of this project was to increase engagement with these among young people.

To do this War Memorials Trust:

  • Learning Volunteer session with school pupils © War Memorials Trust, 2014Trained a group of Learning Volunteers who were able to visit schools and youth groups to help them learn about war memorials in their area through assemblies, lessons and talks.
  • Developed a series of Kent focused war memorial learning resources for use in schools and youth groups, which are available to download using the links in the menu on the left.

War Memorials Trust is grateful to the Heritage Lottery Fund for supporting this project, and to our Learning Volunteers who have participated.
