World War I centenary resources

Child looking at a war memorial © J Peach-Miles, 2012August 2014 through to November 2018 marked the centenary of World War I.  Across the UK many young people were involved in the commemoration of the conflict through local and national events or projects led by their school or youth group. The teaching materials in this section are designed to help primary schools approach some of the key events and issues associated with World War I with their pupils.  With      two-thirds of all war memorials in the UK being created in the wake of World War I these resources are ideal for helping pupils explore their war memorial heritage.
